Moms4Liberty Hold First Meeting in Danville
As a heatwave blanketed the East Bay, Mothers 4 Liberty setup their first meeting of the Contra Costa Chapter next to the bocce ball courts in Danville’s Sycamore Valley Park.
With 25 members in attendance, less than 5% of the Moms4LibertyCCC Facebook group’s members, the predominantly white passing crowd began organizing to take over the local school boards in Contra Costa County with book banning practices & anti-lgbtq sentiment. Moms 4 Liberty has the reputation of being an extremist hate group, labeled by both the @splcenter & Canadian Govt, but that didn’t stop their poor showing at the base of the Danville hills, where Blackhawk joins the rest of the world.
One seated member spoke out, eventually sparking a back and forth that felt a lot like infighting. The community member who felt they had blown their cover, asked if the Moms4Liberty would denounce a comment made by another chapter in support of Hitler. Another mom barked back, exclaiming that they wouldn’t rescind any statements about Hitler made by anyone. The unwillingness to denounce another chapters statements supporting Hitler spelled trouble for the spectators around that weren’t there in support, but rather in disgust.
Moms 4 Liberty plans to start specifically in the San Ramon area, giving numbers to the different regions that are encompassed by the SRVUSD. They spoke briefly about homeschooling via faith based lesson plan before ending the meeting.
The right wing anti-lgbtq group is expected to take root at school boards starting in South Contra Costa County & eventually spreading into Central County with an emphasis on school board meeting attendance. Failed school board candidate & Stop The Steal Pro-Trump organizer Lisa Disbrow sat in the audience & played a passive role while connecting with parents. She’s made it her job to visit school boards as far as Sunol Valley, pushing an anti-trans agenda among other problematic ideas.
